An organization is eligible for membership if it receives research funding from one or more US federal agencies and is an institution of higher education, research institute, clinical affiliate of an academic center, or a research hospital, in each case, based in the United States.
Research organizations that do not meet the eligibility criteria may apply for membership by submitting a request by email to ARIO. The ARIO Board will review and respond. Each individual designated to participate on behalf of an institution must be a current employee of that institution with designated job functions related to administering or interpreting policies and practices concerning research misconduct.
